For a full week in July, Youth from St. Paul's joined an army of others from the LI East District in a week-long mission to repair, paint, plant, mow, rake—and more—in and around properties owned by senior citizens and nonprofit organizations on Long Island. The youth was based at Centerport United Methodist Church, where they enjoyed evening fellowship activities after fanning out in small groups to different sites during the day. UM Army. Led by trained staff, U.M. Army is an organization sponsored by the United Methodist Church that offers "a Christ-centered mission experience like no other [with a] focus is on serving our communities while creating a fun and safe atmosphere for youth and young adults to grow in their faith and make new friends."
