In his role as pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Rev. David Czeisel was appointed to the community at large. He currently serves as a chaplain to the Northport Fire Department, as a delegate to the Ecumenical Lay Council of Northport-East Northport, and as President of the Northport-East Northport Drug and Alcohol Task Force. He is also a member of the Northport Chamber of Commerce.
Within the United Methodist Church, he serves as secretary of the Long Island East District Council of Ministries, the chair of the District’s education committee, the chair of the District Mission Walk team, and a number of other leadership positions. Pastor David is the coordinator of the North Shore Suffolk Cooperative Parish – six United Methodist Churches in our area working together for the benefit of the community. While it was active, he initiated the District’s task force on the opioid epidemic, and chaired that effort within the United Methodist Church.
Pastor David is also passionate about youth ministries and takes the youth on several retreats and mission trips each year. He currently leads the District Youth Council and is the co-chairperson of Young People's Ministries of the New York Annual Conference. He greatly enjoys interfaith and ecumenical work, engaging in dialogue with people inside and outside the church about life and faith.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor David is a vocal soloist and plays the djembe, a West African drum that he brought back from Ghana on a mission trip in 2008. For two years, he taught as an instructor with RPMbox, which trained church leaders nationally on best practices for technology and social media use.
Born and raised in Lindenhurst, New York, Pastor David is an Eagle Scout and the proud father of two school-age children, whom he raises together with his beautiful wife, Jennifer.
